Something Interesting About Andy’s Story…
Andy grew up in the Louisville area and landscaped in his youth with his father, giving him a strong understanding of the area’s climate. He also works with his wife, a partnership that has helped strengthen the franchise. In the future, Andy hopes to expand and open new locations in Kenton and Campbell counties within five to 10 years.
What Andy Did Before Lawn Doctor…
Before becoming a Lawn Doctor franchisee, Andy, a 2005 University of Kentucky graduate, worked as a mechanical engineer for Toyota manufacturing for five years. When he saw the labor force shrinkage caused by America’s economic downturn, Andy decided to leave corporate America on his own terms rather than face an uncertain fate. With control of his future in his own hands, Andy set out to find a new business opportunity.
How Andy Specifically Found Out About Lawn Doctor…
Andy was sure he wanted to get involved in franchising, so he hired a franchise consultant to help him along his journey. The consultant offered six concepts, none of which piqued Andy’s interest. Instead, he began his own investigation, exploring the internet and publications such as Entrepreneur Magazine. He also spoke to both franchisees and corporate leaders to help narrow his search. Eventually, Andy settled on Lawn Doctor because of its proven business model that has led franchisees to success for over 40 years.
Why Andy Became and Loves Being a Lawn Doctor Franchisee…
Andy loves that Lawn Doctor is not a purely profit driven company. He appreciates that customer service and satisfaction take precedence over simply making a buck. In addition, Andy is able to work with his wife, Mandy, who does marketing, bookkeeping and finances for his location. The couple enjoy the increased flexibility being Lawn Doctor franchisees has afforded them.
